THIS PRODUCT LINE FEATURES THESE TECHNOLOGIES :
Finite
Element Analysis
Finite Element Analysis (FEA), combined with computer-aided motion analysis software, allows our design team to eliminate structural “hotspots” where structural strength is critical to the long-term integrity of the product. Learn more.

Why a Bar Saw?
Why a Bar Saw?
Safety on steep slopes. Safer stem handling than disk-style saws in steep terrain because it grabs/secures the tree first, then cuts; rather than cut first, then grab.
Minimal fire risk. While disk-style saws are not allowed during times of high fire danger, often bar saws are allowed – allowing you to elevate your production time.
No recovery time. Unlike that with a disk-style saw, the operator doesn’t need to wait for the saw to regain appropriate cutting speed. The bar saw is ready to cut immediately.
Stronger, productive and more efficient in larger diameter timber.
A bar saw cuts a straight butt, eliminating the extra step with the processor…saving time and money.
Reverse cutting.
Minimal maintenance and operational costs.
Larger cutting capacity decreases the demand for handfallers and multiple cuts.

Why a Pierce Bar Saw?
• Strong, durable saw that is not “disposable” after a short lifespan.
• Strong, simple structure. Not a pasted together weldment.
• Primarily suited for the applications of the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada.
•Does not require frequent reconditioning after each season.
• Does not require structural reinforcements before it cuts a single tree. |
FEATURES
(3) 4” HIGH PRESSURE GRAB ARM CYLINDERS OFFER GREATER CLAMPING FORCE FOR BIG WOOD APPLICATIONS.
|
| HIGH STRENGTH, HEAVY-DUTY FRAME (AS OPPOSED TO A CUT-AND-PASTE WELDMENT) OFFERS THE PBS 3440 GREATER LONG-TERM STRUCTURAL LIFE. |
40 DEGREE LATERAL TILT SYSTEM WITH LARGE "ROTEK-STYLE" BEARING AND HD CYLINDER DEMONSTRATES SUPERIOR TILT POWER.
|
| ¾” PITCH SAW SYSTEM WITH SUSPENSION MOUNT. |
| 36” CUTTING CAPACITY. |
| SAW OIL TANK IS BOLTED ONTO FRAME, RATHER THAN BUILT INTO THE FRAME STRUCTURE, THUS AVOIDING THE RISK OF LEAKS CAUSED BY STRESS CRACKING IN THE FRAME. |
LARGE 7cc SAW OIL PUMP. |
| CAST ARMS OFFER APPROPRIATE CURVED RADIUS AND STRENGTH TO HANDLE LARGE DIAMETER TIMBER. |
| EQUIPPED WITH SUPPORT TOWER FOR BETTER CRADLE AND SUPPORT OF TALL, HEAVY STEMS, AS WELL AS TAKING SIGNIFICANT WEIGHT BURDEN OFF GRAB ARMS. |
| ENCLOSED HYDRAULIC CONTROLS AND SAW SYSTEM, AS WELL AS COMPLETE INTERNAL HOSING PROVIDES THE PBS 3440 WITH SUPERIOR PROTECTION OF ALL HYDRAULICS. |
|
| DESIGNED, ENGINEERED, MANUFACTURED, BUILT, TESTED AND SUPPORTED IN NORTH AMERICA. "PIERCE BUILT, PIERCE BACKED." |
| SHOCKLESS RELIEF DESIGNED TO ABSORB HYDRAULIC OVERPRESSURES. |
| POWERPULL BOOM TRACTION SYSTEM: WITH A SIMPLE PUSH OF A BUTTON, THIS DEVICE ENABLES YOU TO MOMENTARILY INCREASE BOOM TRACTION BY UP TO 25%. |
| AUTOMATIC STROKE-END SPEED REDUCERS. |
| QUIET OPERATION. |
• EASY TO MAINTAIN. |
